Elly De La Cruz steals second, third and home on two pitches

Elly de la Cruz put the Reds ahead for the first time in the game in the seventh inning of Saturday’s contest thanks to a combination of timely hitting and sensational speed, culminating in a home steal.

With the game tied at five runs, De la Cruz singled on an 0-2 count to his opposite field to drive in TJ Friedl.

The man from Dominican Republic came out to steal third base with a 1-0 count and Jake Fraley at bat. De la Cruz arrived safe, beating a shot from Venezuelan William Contreras. Then, with the turn at 1-2, he proceeded to rip off third base. He immediately stunned the Nationals defense and stole home plate, putting Cincinnati up 7-5.
