Ellerstina beat La Dolfina and is the champion of the Polo Tortugas Open

Ellerstina johor beat La Dolfina 11-9 Saudi and was awarded the Tortugas Open polo, the first of the tournaments that make up the Triple Crown. The high handicap season will continue with the Hurlingham Open.

With Matías Torres Zavaleta in place of the injured Hilario Ulloa, General Rodríguez’s team defeated the renewed formation of La Dolfina, and was awarded the 81st Open for the Cup Emilio de Anchorena.

Both teams faced each other for 11th. consecutive time in the final of this tournament, and they starred in a great game. The outcome kept the suspense until the end. The Cañuelas team started better, who got 5-3 up in the third chukker, with a good pass from Francisco Elizalde and David Stirling.

But Ellerstina, from there, scored a 5-0 run to turn the score around and handle the process. Despite coming within a shot of a tie over four minutes into the last period, a good goal from Gonzalo Pieres, after a good play from Torres Zavaleta, he defined the tournament.

Facundo Pieres was the scorer of the final (6) and also of the tournament, after scoring 29 goals in three games, with an average of almost 10 goals per date.

With the triumph, Ellerstina johor achieved his 13th trophy in the tournament -third in a row- and stretches his advantage as the top winner of the tournament, beating Coronel Suárez, who has ten (one as Cnl. Suárez II).

On the individual face, Facundo and Gonzalo Pieres reached their title No. 10 in Tortugas; Nicolás achieved his fifth; and Matías Torres Zavaleta was consecrated by first time in a Triple Crown tournament.

THE DOLFINA: Adolfo Cambiaso (h) 10 (1 penalty) (received a yellow card in the fourth chukker), Francisco Elizalde 9 (4, one penalty and one corner), David Stirling (h) 10 (3) and Diego Cavanagh 9 ( 1) (received a yellow card in the fifth chukker). Total: 38.

ELLERSTINA: 2-1, 3-3, 3-5, 6-5, 9-6, 10-7 and 11-9.
