It’s been two years since Bitcoin (BTC) adoption reached a whole new level. El Salvador made history on September 7, 2021 by making Bitcoin legal tender. You can imagine that many Salvadorans had never heard of Bitcoin back then. Of course, to initiate real financial change, knowledge of Bitcoin is a prerequisite. Attention has been paid to BTC formation in the country so far, but it is now being addressed on a much larger scale.
Bitcoin classes at every public school
You may have heard of “Mi Primer Bitcoin”. This non-profit educational organization has been widely covered in Bitcoin news. Founded in 2021, the organization offers free Bitcoin education to Salvadorans. In doing so, she wants to impart knowledge to the younger generation in particular. In addition, Mi Primer Bitcoin was endorsed by the Central American country’s Ministry of Education.
The two parties are now working together to include Bitcoin classes in public school curricula by 2024.
🌟✨ What an inspiring vision! El Salvador’s future is bright with plans to introduce Bitcoin classes in every public school by 2024.
Together we are making progress towards financial self-determination and knowledge for all. 🚀💡 🇸🇻#BitcoinEducation #EmpoweringElSalvador

Mi Primer Bitcoin founder John Denney confirmed that it is a Ministry of Education project supporting Mi Primer Bitcoin with Bitcoin Beach, a popular Bitcoin community in a coastal town in El Salvador. According to Dennehy, the primary source material will be the Mi Primer Bitcoin program, which awards students with a diploma upon successful completion.
BTC training pilot program
Dennehy stated that training for the pilot program will begin on September 7 with the help of Bitcoin Beach. The diploma program will initially be taught to 150 teachers in 75 different public schools to provide them with basic Bitcoin skills.
After initial training, teachers return to their own schools and teach according to the curriculum set by the Ministry of Education. If successful, the program will be rolled out in all public schools in the country next year.
Dennehy also noted that while the focus is currently on El Salvador, the mission is to bring Bitcoin education to the entire world. He said that Mi Primer Bitcoin is already negotiating with two other governments in Latin America to implement Bitcoin formation. However, he added that this is still in its infancy.
