El Olivo Arena in Jaén, venue of the 2022 Spanish Cup

The 2022 Spanish Cup, one of the most charismatic competitions in national futsal, already has its headquarters and city: the Olivo Arena de Jaén, in which the Jaén team is playing its first season in what is now its new home. Inaugurated in June 2021, it has a capacity of more than 6,500 spectators. It will be held between March 31 and April 3, organized by the RFEF. The Spanish Cup will start on March 31 with the celebration of the quarterfinals, which will continue on April 1. The semifinals will take place on Saturday, day 2; while the finalist teams will compete for the trophy on Sunday, April 3.

The tournament will be played by the top eight finishers at the end of the first round, with Barça, the current leader, already securing their ticket. Jaén, despite being local (there is no host in the Cup), their presence is not guaranteed because they are at ‘home’, although his position on the table (fourth gear) makes his presence close to being assured. He has already won the competition in 2015 and 2018. Inter Movistar, current champion of the tournament after its conquest in 2021 at the WiZink Center in Madrid, currently has more problems. that now it is not within those eight positions that give access to the Cup. There are four days left to find out the teams that will make up the table.

During these four days, the city of Jaén will become the Spanish capital of futsal, since, in parallel to the Copa de España 2022, the RFEF Cup will be held. It will be the first time that Jaén hosts the Spanish Futsal Cup, taking over from other Andalusian cities that have hosted the competition in previous editions, such as Málaga (2020), Granada (2009) or Roquetas de Mar (1999).
