Edwin Banguera, a familiar face on the left flank, is setting off on a new adventure. The 29-year-old left-back recently put pen to paper with Imishli, a club based in Azerbaijan, marking a fresh chapter in his football journey. This move sees the Colombian international leave Felgueiras, a team he’d called home for the past two seasons.
His departure from Felgueiras concludes a second stint with the Portuguese club. During his time there, Banguera became a consistent presence, known for his work rate and contributions from defense. He played a significant role, carving out a memorable period for the team and its fans.
Over his two tenures with Felgueiras, Banguera racked up an impressive 93 appearances. In those games, he showed his attacking quality too, finding the back of the net four times and providing six assists for his teammates. The new deal with Imishli will keep him in Azerbaijan for the next two seasons.
Interestingly, Felgueiras had already seen a new player step into the left-back role this season. Pedro Rosas took over as the starter for the first three league matches under coach Agostinho Bento. This change suggests the club was already looking at new options for the position.
