Eastern stars sign Nicaraguan Leo Crawford

The Eastern Stars hired Nicaraguan pitcher Leo Crawford as one of those imported from his club for the professional baseball tournament that will begin in the country on October 27.

Crawford is a pitcher who has worked as a starter and reliever throughout his career. The Stars have prospects of using it in any one of those roles, explained general manager Felix Peguero.

As a reliever, Crawford had a 3.58 ERA this year in 16 games and 32.2 innings, in which he struck out 28 opponents and allowed 9 walks, in AA, with the Milwaukee Brewers organization.

The left-handed shooter’s name joins that of fellow left-handed pitchers Evan MacLane, Andy Otero, Jake Kalish and Reiver Sanmartin on the All-Star import list, which equally includes right-handers Kutter Crawford, Steven Fuentes and stuntman. relay Matt Pobereyko.

All of the mentioned pitchers, except for Pobereyko, can open games and relieve.

So far, the Stars have only announced one imported offense player: wide receiver Cristian Bethancourt. They still have room to hire one more imported player.

The maximum number of imported players that is allowed to each team in the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League is 10.
