dwayne wade has an eye for business in sports after retiring from the NBA after becoming a minority owner of the Utah Jazz from 2021 and join the group of owners of the Royal Salt Lake of the MLS.
Now, the three-time NBA champion will be one of the owners of the WNBA’s Chicago Sky. Wade, a native of ‘The Windy City’ announced his participation in an interview with ESPN’s Alexa Phillippou.
“We all talk about support, and support looks different for everyone,” Wade said. “So instead of tweeting and saying ‘Support the W‘, instead of going to the games and supporting, I wanted to go to the next level and this is the next level for me”.
Wade is confident that the women’s professional basketball league will grow in the near future and he wants to be a part of that growth.
“It’s a great opportunity to be a part of this league in its early stages. Growth will happen and I want to be a part of the growth of this league.Wade explained.
The Chicago franchise is valued at 85 million dollars and the level of participation will depend on the board of owners of the team.

Chicago Sky squad
Currently, the chicago sky are made up of Morgan Bersch, kahleah cooperDana Evans, rebekah gardner, Isabelle Harrison, Ruthy HebardSika Kone, Marina MambreyRobyn Parks, Alanna Smith, Taylor Soule, elizabeth williams and Courtney Williams.
All of them are under the management of the coach and general manager Emre Vatansever. In the current season, Cooper is the team’s leading scorer with 17.3 points per game.
Halfway through the 2023 WNBA season, the Sky rank fifth in the Eastern Conference with a record of eight wins and 12 losses.
