Duleep Trophy Final 2022: South Zone have taken the lead in the final match of the 2022 Duleep Trophy. On the second day of the title fight, South Zone took a 48-run lead over West Zone. The West Zone team, led by Ajinkya Rahane, was down to 270 in the early innings of day two. While captain Rahane returned to the pavilion after scoring just 8 runs, while batting at number six, Het Patel scored the highest 98 runs and Jaydev Unadkat, who reached the crease at number 10, remained undefeated with 47 runs. Sai Kishore took the maximum of five wickets for the South Zone.

South zone handled after initial setback

In response, Zona Sur did not start well either. He got his first hit for 31 runs in the form of Mayank Agarwal, who came out after scoring just 9 runs. Although captain Hanuma Vihari, who came after this, spent time in the crease, but he missed out on playing a big tackle. Vihari scored 25 runs on 48 balls. Baba Inderjit, who came to bat at number four, changed the map of the game when he saw his aggressive tackles.

South Zone exceeds the century of Baba Inderjit

Baba Inderjit’s century and Krishnappa Gautam’s 43 helped South Zone take a first-inning lead over West Zone on day two of the Duleep Trophy Final. Inderjeet scored 118 runs on 125 balls. Aside from them, Manish Pandey chipped in 48 and Gautam chipped in 43 runs on 55 balls. Inderjit shared a 61-race partnership with Hanuma Vihari (25). He completed his first class 13th century with the help of 14 fours. He added 105 runs for fourth wicket with Pandey. In response to West Zone’s 270 in the early innings, South hit 318 from seven on the stumps on day two. At one point the South Zone scored 243 for six, but the multi-talented Gautam and T Ravi Teja scored 26 runs and added 63 runs in just 16.2 overs for the seventh wicket.

Five day final match

The final match is five days away, so this advantage cannot be called enough as of now and only Teja is in the crease among the regular batsmen. R Sai Kishore is with him who took five wickets for 86 runs in bowling. In such a situation, West Zone will have every chance to come back in this match.
