The Bermudian Flora Duffy and the Norwegian Kristian Blummenfelt were crowned this Saturday in the Canadian town Edmonton triathlon world champions, a historical fact since both became the first to get this title and the Olympic in the same year.
Duffy claimed her third world crown after 2016 and 2017 and equaled Australian Emma Snowill after a test in which she only needed to finish in the top eight. Finally she was third after the American Taylor Knibb and the French Leonie Periault, while the Spanish Miriam Casillas was twentieth.
For his part, Blummenfelt had more pressure as he started behind the British Alex Yee and needed to be ahead of him to win the title, but the Norwegian did not fail and took the victory, with his eleventh rival. Spanish Antonio Serrat Seoane finished eighth.
