Dubai enacts new law for shopping bags

UAE: Shopping centers and all shopping malls in Dubai, United Arab Emirates have started receiving 25 fills from consumers on disposable bags from Friday, July 1.

According to Emirates Al-Youm, Dubai authorities have decided that the use of disposable plastic bags will be completely banned within two years. Receiving 25 fils per bag is the first step in this direction.

The Dubai Municipal Council says all shopping malls are required to charge consumers 25 pounds on disposable plastic bags.

Shopping malls are empowered to provide replacements for disposable plastic bags, which can be priced.

The LG council says that 25 fils will be collected only on disposable plastic bags. According to the LG council, the fee must be collected, the price of which will be included in the purchase bill.
