“Dreams never die”: Yannick Bestaven, Philippe Croizon and Thomas Pesquet tell their story in a documentary

Last January, skipper Yannick Bestaven won the legendary Vendée Globe aboard his monohull Maître Coq. A feat hailed by all and the realization of a childhood dream for the sailor who went to the end of himself despite the difficulty and the extreme conditions. A human adventure that serves as a common thread in Sébastien Blémont’s documentary Dreams never die previewed in La Rochelle. The realization for him also of a childhood dream.

When I was a kid, I said my dream was to make a movie, a feature film. And it’s all the more funny, that at the time I said that I wanted to make a film about people who make their dreams come true. So it’s crazy!

We cannot say that it is a film about sailing, because it is not sailing that interests me, moreover I am not a fan of sailing. What interested me was Yannick’s journey and the journey of all the others as well“, explains the director. Sébastien Brémont rather wondered about the way in which women and men surpass themselves to live their passion and touch their dream.

We therefore meet, among others, the actor Daniel Auteuil, the windsurfer Charline Picon, the astronaut Thomas Pesquet or the adventurer with four limbs, Philippe Croizon, present at this preview: “I encourage people to come and see this film, because it will make you dream, maybe hit you and make you say: why not me? It all starts like this.“And that’s how Philippe Croizon ended up connecting the five continents by swimming.

The film will be presented simultaneously in a hundred theaters on December 5, the day of its release, in the presence of Philippe Croizon and Yannick Bestaven, currently racing on the Transat Jacques Vabre with Jean-Marie Dauris.

“Dreams never die” by Sébastien Brémont, with Yannick Bestaven, Daniel Auteuil, Isabelle Autissier, Philippe Croizon, Bixente Lizarazu, Thomas Pesquet, Charline Picon, Erik Orsenna and many others. Released on December 5th. (2021-1h40)
