Dreamland Gran Canaria and Real Madrid are set to clash in the semi-finals, with the match scheduled to take place at 21:30. The Canaries, who had a remarkable game in defense, eliminated Valencia – a pretty significant surprise, although it was probably the most evenly matched qualifier going into it. On the other hand, Madrid took down Baxi Manresa, essentially shutting them down from the second quarter and cruising to a comfortable win.
Although Dreamland had some doubts heading into the Cup, they quickly put those to rest with an excellent game against Valencia, where Albicy and Tobey really stood out. Gran Canaria played a much better game overall and secured their spot in the next round. Now, just 24 hours after that impressive win, they have to face off against the clear favorite – no easy feat.
Madrid, meanwhile, was able to win with plenty of resting time for their star players, thanks in part to an impressive showing from Mario Hezonja. It’s going to be a much tougher match for the hosts, though. If we look back at their previous match-up this season, Madrid came out on top with a narrow 83-77 win in Madrid, but it’s worth noting that their first game after the Cup in the Endesa League on March 2 will be against the same team, on the same court.
When to Catch the Action
