The chain of stores specializing in cosmetics and beauty Douglas has managed to grow and increase its sales at the end of its first fiscal semester, completed last March, with a turnover of 2,297 million euros. This has meant an increase of 14.3% compared to the same period in 2022. In relation to sales, year-on-year growth has been 15.8%.
Specifically, revenue from physical stores has reached 1,536 million euros, 15% more, while the business on-line increased 13% year-on-year, to 763.5 million.
Compared to the second fiscal quarter, the German distributor’s sales have grown by 19.3% year-on-year, until reaching 858.5 million euros. On the other hand, losses have been reduced by 45.3%, to 55.6 million euros. Thus, these results have highlighted the strength of its omnichannel modelwith a strong double-digit increase in sales, both in physical stores and in e-commerce.
Growth momentum in the next three years
In Douglas’s growth plan, he counts on achieving a large growth momentum in the next three years. According to CEO Sander van der Laan, sales should grow from 1.4 to 5 billion euros.
To achieve this, the company is considering expanding to other countries and focusing on its omnichannel strategy. In relation to the latest quarterly figures, the e-commerce business is on track to meet its ambitious target.
