Dominican women’s U-15 team runner-up in the Uncaf FIFA Tournament

The Dominican Republic under-15 national team won the runner-up position in the Uncaf FIFA Forward 2022 Tournament, which took place from June 5 to 11 in San José, Costa Rica. The girls succumbed in the final played on Saturday night against the local team, Costa Rica with a score of three goals to zero.

The team technically led by Betzaida Ubri only fell in the defining match. The Quisqueyanas had a great tournament finishing leaders of Group B after beating El Salvador 2-1 and Belize with a 10-0 win.

The midfielders summoned are: Alexa Castro (FC Copa New Jersey – USA), Angie Abreu (Cibao FC – RD), Jeanery Díaz (Cibao FC – RD), Marcela Zimbro (Cibao FC – RD), Sophia Pinkney (Charlotte Soccer Academy – USA), Emma Torres (FC Prime – USA) and Nathalia Ortíz (Heat FC – USA); and the forwards: Julia Jiménez (Club San Gabriel – Spain), Jaimaris Díaz (PBG Predators DA – USA), Leoneidy Sano (CDR 5 de Abril – RD).

The coaching staff that accompanied Ubri was made up of Angela Bocio (technical assistant), Isairis Minaya (goalkeeper coach), Luís Lluberes (physical coach) and Milagros Suero (physiotherapist).
