Dominican Republic gets silver in team skeet shooting

The Centro Caribe Sports (CCS) delegation won the gold medal in men’s team skeet, on the first date of the skeet shooting championship of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games, San Salvador 2023, which is held here as subheadquarters.

The shooters Rodrigo Zacharisson (72), Sebastián Bermúdez (71) and Carlos Padilla (70) accumulated 213 broken plates, to finish in the first position of the event, which takes place at the El Higuero shooting range, Santo Domingo Norte.

The silver medal was obtained by the representation of the Dominican Republic, whose team was made up of Máximo Tavarez, who was the best shooter of the day with 73 hits, as well as Félix Hermida (69) and Julio E. Dujarric (67).

The bronze corresponded to the Mexican team, made up of Carlos Segovia (69), Luis Gallardo (69) and Jesús Balboa (68), who broke a total of 206 plates.

Puerto Rico followed in the same order, with 202, Guadalupe 199, Cuba 192.

The competitions continue this Sunday, starting at 9:00 in the morning, with the definition of the male individual competitions of the skeet modality.

The qualifying events for the women’s individual skeet shot were led by Mexican Gabriela Rodríguez, who broke a total of 67 targets.

The second position corresponded to the also Mexican Anabel Molina, who closed with 66 plates destroyed and Emely Padilla, who competes under the banner of Centro Caribe Sports, broke 62.

In that same order followed Michellee Elliot, with 61, the Puerto Rican Paola Bermúdez, broke 59 plates and the Panamanian Johanna Spartacus, finished with 52 broken plates.
