Dominican Republic debuts this Tuesday against Guatemala at the start of the U-21 Women’s Panam Cup

The female sextet from the Dominican Republic will be debuting this Tuesday against Guatemala at 6:00 pm, in Group B, at the beginning of the day of the NORCECA U-21 Women’s Pan American Cup to be held here.

The event will conclude on May 28 at the Sports Center of this city with the participation of eight teams.

On Wednesday the Creoles will meet Costa Rica at six in the afternoon and on Thursday against the United States, at the same time.

The Dominican team is already here in Nogales to conclude their training sessions for the tournament that begins this Tuesday.

The great core of athletes that participated in the last Panam U-19 Cup will be uniformed in this Panam U-21 Cup.

The women’s contest is a mandatory requirement to participate in the NORCECA Under-21 Continental Championship in 2024, part of the qualification system for the FIVB Women’s Under-21 World Championship.

The teams have been distributed in two groups of four; Hosts Mexico are in pool A with Belize, Cuba and Puerto Rico, while reigning champions the United States, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Guatemala are in pool B.

After the preliminary round concludes, the winners of each group will advance directly to the semifinal round, while the second and third places will compete in the quarterfinals.
