Dominican loses 9-5 to Taipei and is in fourth place in the U12 Baseball World Cup

 

The host Chinese Taipei beat the Republic of China team 9-5.Dominicanand buried the aspirations of the Caribbean team to win a medal in the U12 Baseball World Cup that ended on Saturday in the Asian nation.

The Taiwanese, until last night number 2 in the World Ranking of theWBSC(World Baseball Softball Confederation), defeated their Dominican rivals in the dispute for the bronze medal of the championship that the United States team won undefeated.

The Americans overwhelmed Venezuela 10-2 in the gold medal final, moving to the top of the universal ranking in the 12-and-under division. Venezuela was left with the silver medal.

Rui-Xin produced the Asians’ ninth run with a box hit in the fifth inning.

Qiu Yun-Shou was credited with the victory in relief role, pitching in 3.1 innings, allowing three hits, they scored an earned return, did not walk and struck out five batters.

While Jorge Luis Jiménez suffered the setback for the Dominican. He was the third of four pitchers used by manager Álvaro Samboy.
