Dominic Thiem will be out at Australian Open

Austrian tennis player Dominic Thiem announced on Tuesday that he will be out of the Australian Open, which begins on January 17, to refine his form after a wrist injury.

"After a short vacation, my team and I have considered things and decided to make changes to my start of the year calendar. I will start the season at the Córdoba Open, in Argentina, at the end of January and therefore I will not play the Australian Open this year in Melbourne", He indicated on his Instagram account.

Thiem, 28, is currently ranked 15th on the ATP. Suffering from a wrist injury for the past six months, he has already been absent from the Abu Dhabi tournament, December 16-18, and will also not be at the ATP Cup, in Sydney, which begins on January 1.
