Dolly Ahluwalia openly discussed her initial lack of confidence during the shooting of her upcoming film, ‘Calorie’. The National Award-winning actress admitted to being “very nervous” on set.
She revealed that she frequently looked to co-star Anupam Kher for support. Kher’s calm presence provided her with reassurance.
Ahluwalia described his impact, stating, “When I found that stillness and calm in him, I felt I was in the right place.” This helped her overcome her initial anxiety.
The film ‘Calorie’ is scheduled for release on November 28. It recently had its international premiere at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
Ahluwalia spoke to ANI about the film’s deeper meaning. She explained that the title ‘Calorie’ represents “experiences and emotions.”
“For me, Calorie means experiences and emotions, and how you digest those emotions instead of food,” she told the news agency. The film explores how people live with past pain and memories.
The film is inspired by true events, portraying a Sikh-Canadian family’s journey. They navigate various challenges before ultimately finding their identity, love, and relief.
Anupam Kher, Dolly Ahluwalia, Shanaya Dhillon, Ashley Ganger, Sana Sayyad, and Tia Bhatia star in the film. Its premiere was held in IFFI’s Cinema of the World section.
