The Australian team is ready to come to India for a very important test series. Next month, this team will face India in a 4-match test series. This series is going to be very important from the point of view of the final of the World Test Championship in India. For the past few years, Team India has always dominated Australia. But this time the Kangaroo team is desperate to return. Ahead of this series, Australia’s head coach Andrew McDonald made a big statement.

Andrew McDonald’s Big Statement

Australia head coach Andrew McDonald said on Sunday that there is no need for any warm-up games before starting his tour of India in February-March. Australia did something similar before their tour of Pakistan last year. Australia practiced on courts in Melbourne before landing in Pakistan to take part in the series. Australia won the series 1-0 in Pakistan. The players will have a three-day camp in Sydney before Australia’s tour of India begins and the series kicks off in Nagpur from February 9.

I was defeated in the last series.

In 2017, Australia held a 10-day camp on specially prepared courts at the ICC Academy in Dubai in preparation for the tour of India and nine days of practice in India before the first Test in Pune. Australia won the first test in Pune, but then the team led by Virat Kohli again won the series 2-1. Macdonald said: “No warm-up match as we have done in recent series. We feel we don’t need a warm-up match. We will arrive in India a week before the first game.”

The Sydney Morning Herald quoted MacDonald as indicating Australia’s squad for the India tour could be bigger, while there were concerns about the fitness of fast bowler Mitchell Starc and all-rounder Cameron Green. However, the coach is confident that Green will be fit in the time frame he has been given. The challenge for him will be making sure his body is in shape.
