The application Google Gmail it is installed by default on practically all Android smartphones (as well as tablets). Therefore, it is only natural that this versatile and free application has become synonymous with email, also known as email.
Among its hidden features and tricks is an option with the potential to prevent unintentional emails. In other words, it is a safeguard that, in daily work, can make a difference for those who send emails through a smartphone.
Here we share in a simple and fast way how you can activate this useful function for Gmail.
“Do you intend to send this message?” – the hidden function in Google’s Gmail
First of all, we have to open the Google application on the respective Android devices. Then simply locate the Options menu, also called the hamburger menu, identified by the three horizontal lines or bars in the upper left corner.
Immediately after that, we have to slide to the bottom of the sidebar that will appear after touching the Options menu. When going down, the penultimate menu will be identified as Settings (it appears last in Figure 1 when the image has been cropped).
The next step is simple. Once in the settings of the Gmail Android app, just tap General definitions (as indicated in Figure 1). There, the user will also see the other email accounts that they may have associated with.
You will then be presented with mine with various confirmation options before shipping. By the way, in addition to the confirmation before sending, it is possible to activate the option to confirm before filing and / or the option to confirm before deleting an email.
Finally, after activating the “Confirm before sending” option, the following verification message will appear in the form of a “pop-up” card. The user will thus have one last chance to verify the content of the email and their intention to send it.
This option does not override, for example, the cancellation of the sending of an email within the timeframe provided by Gmail. Either way, it’s a simple trick, a hidden option that can be particularly useful in a work context.
