Santana García, when offering a speech in the presence of mayors from 30 municipalities and municipal district boards, pointed out that It is a high priority to professionalize and modernize municipal finances, in order to obtain precise information from them.

The official indicated that this initiative is the product of the fact that, currently, the vast majority of municipal entities do not keep equity accounting (assets, liabilities and equity), but rather limit themselves to keeping budgetary accounting, which only records inputs and outputs. of your resources.

Digecog’s general director said that the idea is that, next year, the 393 municipalities and municipal district boards make use, in addition to budget accounting, of asset accountingin order to have financial statements with more complete data that provide transparency and a more complete accountability can be made.

To achieve this goal, Digecog will provide training, training and advice to these municipalities and municipal district boards, regarding the accounting processes suggested in light of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
