DIRECT – Coronavirus: the Netherlands returns to partial containment

Norway will reintroduce restrictions at the national level in the face of the strong resumption of the epidemic, in particular by authorizing municipalities to use the health pass. This Scandinavian country, which had lifted all its restrictions at the end of September, will also offer a third dose of vaccine for all over 18 years.


The Greenland authorities announced on Friday the implementation of restrictions in Nuuk, the capital of this Danish autonomous territory, in order to counter the sharp rise in the number of Covid-19 cases.


Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced Friday, November 12 the reintroduction of partial containment with a series of health restrictions, affecting in particular the restaurant sector, to cope with a record number of Covid-19 cases. The politician described at a press conference in The Hague the new series of measures “big blow of a few weeks, because the virus is everywhere, all over the country, in all sectors and at all ages” .

The measures come into effect on Saturday evening and will run for at least three weeks. Bars, restaurants and essential stores like supermarkets will close at 8:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m. GMT) and non-essential stores at 6:00 p.m.
