Diogo Salgado Braz Elected FADU President for 2025-2027 Term

Diogo Salgado Braz is the new head of the Academic University Sports Federation (FADU). The organization shared the news this past Wednesday. Braz will lead FADU for a two-year term, from 2025 to 2027. He secured a clear victory, earning 61% of the total votes.

At just 25 years old, Braz is set to become the 14th president in FADU’s history. He is no stranger to the federation, having served as vice-president under the previous administration led by Ricardo Nora. Braz will officially take office in November, beginning his term with high hopes.

The election saw 76 out of 81 delegates cast their ballots. Braz’s “List A” collected 50 votes. His opponent, Tiago Teixeira, received 25 votes. There was also one null vote recorded during the process.

Braz quickly laid out his plans. “We are committed to helping university sports grow even more in Portugal,” he stated. His project honors the successes of the past. It also looks to push FADU forward in every area of its work. He envisions a FADU that works closely with clubs. He wants it to be more modern and to use new digital tools. It should also be more open to everyone. Braz believes FADU should be a place that develops, teaches, and educates its members.

He has already put together a strong team to help him. Pedro Santos will serve as the president of the Fiscal Council. Guilherme Macedo will lead the Disciplinary Council. Francisco Garcia takes on the role of president for the General Assembly Table. Together, they will work to bring Braz’s vision to life.
