Dimitri Pavlenko on Anne Hidalgo’s proposal to double teachers’ salaries: “it would cost 30 billion euros per year”

Columnist of the show Face à l’Info, the journalist of Europe 1 Dimitri Pavlenko returned on Monday to the proposal made by Anne Hidalgo, presidential candidate, to double the salaries of teachers if she is elected.

“It would cost 30 billion euros per year to the State, the budget of the Ministry of National Education would increase from 50 to 80 billion euros”, he explained.

Asked about France Inter, Anne Hidalgo had ruled Monday “inadmissible that our teachers – we could say the same thing about our caregivers – are so little paid”, and in the face of “the dropout of the middle classes and popular categories who can no longer live on their salaries ”.

However, she did not say how such a wage increase, proposed in her book to be published on Wednesday, would be financed, ensuring that she was targeting a costing of her program by the end of 2021.
