Diljit Dosanjh Faces Backlash for Starring with Pakistani Actress Hania Aamir

Diljit Dosanjh is facing backlash from fans for starring in the upcoming film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ alongside Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. The movie’s trailer, released last Sunday, has sparked outrage among netizens, who are calling for a boycott of the film and labeling Diljit a “traitor” and “Pakistan’s biggest sympathizer.”

The controversy surrounds Hania Aamir’s involvement in the project, given that the Indian government has banned Pakistani artists from working in the country. Fans are questioning why Diljit would choose to work with an actress from a nation that has been at odds with India. One Twitter user wrote, “Diljit is known to be a Pakistan lover and doesn’t hesitate to show his love for Pakistan.” Another user called for a boycott of the film, stating, “When all Pakistani actors/actress are banned in India, why has Diljit taken Hania in his new movie?”

The film’s director, Amar Hundal, has decided not to release ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ in India due to the backlash. Instead, the movie will only be released in foreign countries on June 27. The cast, including Diljit, Neeru Bajwa, Manav Vij, and Hania Aamir, will not be promoting the film in India.

Fans are also criticizing Hania Aamir for her past comments on social media, where she referred to India as a “coward” and shared stories about Hindutva extremism. One Twitter user wrote, “Hania Aamir, a Pakistani actress, was sharing stories on Instagram referring to Operation Sindoor as Hindutva extremism and calling India a coward. Today, she is earning from India. She is starring in the film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ with Diljit Dosanjh. Hate India.”

The controversy surrounding ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ is not the first instance of a film facing backlash due to the involvement of Pakistani artists. In the past, films like ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Raees’ faced similar criticism, leading to a ban on Pakistani artists working in India.

As the release date of ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ approaches, it remains to be seen how the controversy will affect the film’s performance in foreign markets. One thing is certain, however: Diljit Dosanjh’s decision to star in the film has sparked a heated debate about the role of Pakistani artists in Indian cinema.
