Did Team India get too confident with victory at Centurion?

Former South African cricketer Daryl Cullinan has said that the worst thing for the India team was that they won the first Test. He said that after the victory at Centurion, the Indian team had a false feeling of winning the series and this made the Indian team suffer more in the series.

The Indian team won the first match of this three test series against South Africa at Centurion. This was the first win for an Asian team at Centurion. Following this victory, the Team India players were seen dancing and singing from the field to the resort. Following this, many photos and videos celebrating the players’ New Year were also revealed. Cullinan’s comments appear to be related to such celebrations in the series among Indian players.

Cullinan says: ‘Perhaps the worst thing for the Indian team was from a batting point of view. After winning the first game, they felt they had reached their destination, but South Africa made a wonderful comeback. South African bowlers changed the length of their bowling pins to Indian batsmen after the first test. The Indian batsmen played well in Australia but here they felt uncomfortable due to movement and rebounding.

Of Indian bowling, Cullinan said: ‘There was no consistency in Indian bowling. Shami was fine but we saw Bumrah. He was expected to bowl better at the Wanderers’ wicket, but he did not get any wickets in the second innings. Lack of consistency in performance is the entire story of the victory and defeat of this three-Test series.
