Dibu Martínez promised to prepare "as never before" for the world

The goalkeeper of the Argentine national team Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez promised that he will prepare “like never before” in his life for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. “There may be several months to go, a whole preseason and the Premier League with matches every three days, but I can say I’m going to prepare like I’ve never prepared in my life,” said “Dibu” Martínez in an interview with ESPN.

The goalkeeper of the Argentine national team is enjoying his last days in the country as he will spend the last leg of his vacation in Ibiza before joining the preseason at Aston Villa in Australia in the first days of July. However, the former Independiente said that he will take Pablo Capuchetti, one of the kinesiologists of the Argentine team to complete his knee recovery and perform a daily morning routine. During his stay in Argentina, Martínez also underwent a treatment with “rigid plasma” injections with the renowned doctor Jorge Batista.

“Nothing hurts anymore,” said the “Scaloneta” goalkeeper who, after winning the Finalissima against Italy in London, was released by the coaching staff in the second match against Estonia in Spain. “The national team is like a family. Scaloni created a group that I don’t think there are many coaches in the world who can do it,” he stressed.

In this sense, “Dibu” said that in Ibiza he will coincide with many of his teammates from the national team and admitted that he would like to bring everyone together to eat “a barbecue with all the families”.
