Dhruv Jurel shines in England with hat-trick of fifties

Dhruv Jurrel is on fire. The young wicketkeeper-batsman from India-A has been scoring big in England. He hit his third half-century in a row against England Lions. Jurrel scored 52 runs in 87 balls with 7 fours. He and KL Rahul made a 121-run partnership for the third wicket.

This is Jurrel’s third half-century on the England tour. In his first unofficial Test, he scored 94 runs in 120 balls with 11 fours and 1 six. He missed his century by just 6 runs. In the second innings, he scored 53 runs in 53 balls without getting out. Jurrel is making a strong case for himself in the Indian team.

Last month, the BCCI announced the Indian Test team. Jurrel was chosen as the second wicketkeeper for the 5-Test series against England. He’s not just a backup player, but a strong contender for the playing eleven. Jurrel’s consistency in English conditions proves he’s a long-format batsman and can make it to the playing eleven.

In the IPL 2025, Jurrel played some impressive innings for Rajasthan Royals. He scored 333 runs in 14 matches with an average of 37.00, including two half-centuries. Although the team didn’t make it to the playoffs, Jurrel showed his skills and confidence whenever the team needed him. Now, he’s showing the same confidence in England’s tough conditions. His consistency in red-ball cricket makes him a reliable option for Team India in all formats.
