Dhoni Reveals Surprising Text Message to Virat Kohli After Leaving Captaincy

MS Dhoni’s Surprising Revelation About Text Message to Virat Kohli

The Indian cricket team is currently in Dubai, gearing up for the Champions Trophy 2025 campaign. With Rohit Sharma at the helm, the team has made it to the semi-finals and is set to play a crucial match against New Zealand. Virat Kohli, who has recently returned to form with a match-winning century against Pakistan, has been in the spotlight. India’s last Champions Trophy title was won under the captaincy of MS Dhoni in 2013.

It’s interesting to note that MS Dhoni recently revealed a surprising detail about a text message he sent to Virat Kohli after the latter stepped down as captain. In a previous interview, Kohli had mentioned that despite many people offering their opinions on TV, he only received a message from one person he had played with – MS Dhoni. Kohli had said, “When I left the Test captaincy, I got only one person’s message, with whom I played earlier. He was MS Dhoni. Many people were giving suggestions on TV, but I had only one message from him.”

What Did MS Dhoni Say?

When questioned about the message, MS Dhoni responded, “Recently, I was asked a similar question. You will get the answer during the IPL. When it comes to connection with people, I am not very good at this thing, but yes, sometimes when someone needs you, you just send a message.” This statement sheds light on the nature of their relationship, with Kohli appreciating the gesture, saying, “That honor towards MS Dhoni, your association with someone, when he is real, it looks like this, because there is no insecurity towards any of us.” Kohli values their bond, emphasizing that there’s no sense of insecurity between them, and they can reach out to each other whenever needed.
