Dharmendra Shares 61-Year-Old Stardom Glimpse Amid Son Sunny Deol’s Film Releases

Sunny Deol is currently in Dehradun, shooting for “Border 2”. Meanwhile, his film “Jaat” is set to release on April 10. The teaser of “Jaat” has created a buzz, and his father Dharmendra has shared a post that’s getting a lot of attention.

In the post, Dharmendra talks about how he loves sleeping in the open air. He shares a photo from 1964, where he’s sleeping on a cot, with a car and a bungalow in the background. A fan comments, “You didn’t like AC or big car seats, you preferred sleeping in the open air.” Another fan says, “Nowadays, you don’t get to see such trees.”

Dharmendra’s post shows his love for simplicity

The photo Dharmendra shared is from a film shoot in 1964. He’s sleeping on a cot, with an Impala car parked next to him. In the background, there’s a bungalow surrounded by trees, and a man standing and looking at Dharmendra.

Dharmendra had bought the Impala car with big seats so he could sleep comfortably. He shared this photo on Instagram in 2019, talking about how he loved sleeping in the open air.

Stars didn’t have vanity vans back then

Dharmendra didn’t have a vanity van during his shoots. In fact, vanity vans weren’t common back then. It was Poonam Dhillon who started the vanity van business in 1991. Amitabh Bachchan was the first actor to have a vanity van, gifted by director Manmohan Desai in 1977. Other stars, including Dharmendra, Mithun Chakraborty, and Jaya Bachchan, would rest under trees or in the shade on set.
