A poignant tribute to veteran actor Dharmendra has taken center stage at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. The motorcycle famously ridden by his character Veeru in the iconic film ‘Sholay’ has become a significant attraction. This unique remembrance comes shortly after the legendary actor’s recent passing.
Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89. He had been battling age-related illnesses for some time. He received treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai before his care continued at home.
Producer Karan Johar confirmed Dharmendra’s death through a social media post. The news sent shockwaves through the Hindi film industry, with many, including actor Shatrughan Sinha, expressing their grief. Known as Bollywood’s “He-Man,” Dharmendra left a lasting legacy.
At IFFI, the atmosphere around the ‘Sholay’ motorcycle shifted dramatically after his death. Earlier, fans had taken joyful selfies with the vintage vehicle. Following the news, many onlookers became visibly emotional while viewing the motorcycle.
