Dhanush’s latest directorial venture, Idly Kadai, hit a snag when its set caught fire recently. The blaze, fueled by strong winds, raged for over an hour before firefighters managed to contain it. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
The film’s production team had built a new set in Andipatti, Tamil Nadu, where shooting had been underway for over 20 days. Dhanush is not just starring in the film but is also directing it, marking his fourth outing behind the camera.
A star-studded cast
Idly Kadai boasts an impressive cast, with Dhanush playing a double role. Nithya Menen is opposite him, while Arun Vijay is set to play the villain. Other notable actors in the film include Satyaraj, Parthiban, Shalini Pandey, Prakash Raj, Samuthirakani, and Rajkiran. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music.
A delayed release
The film’s producers initially announced a release date of April 10, but it was later postponed. The new release date is October 1. The production house, Wonderbar Films, took to social media to share the update, saying “The wait is over! Idly Kadai hits theaters worldwide from October 1!”
As the film’s release draws near, fans are eagerly anticipating Dhanush’s action-packed entertainer. The incident on set has done little to dampen their enthusiasm, and it remains to be seen how the final product turns out.
