Devine Powers New Zealand To T20 Series Win Over South Africa

South Africa batted first and posted 159-6. Annerie Dercksen anchored the innings, scoring 55 runs off 32 balls. Her performance included eight boundaries and one six. Sune Luus added a measured 30 runs. Jess Kerr dismantled the batting order for New Zealand. She took three wickets for 16 runs across four overs. Captain Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine each claimed one wicket.

New Zealand reached 160-4 to seal the victory. Devine dictated the run chase. She scored 64 runs off 34 deliveries, hitting six fours and four sixes before Nadine de Klerk caught her. Amelia Kerr scored 31 runs from 29 balls. Georgia Plimmer contributed 31 runs before being stumped. Brooke Halliday finished unbeaten on 16. Maddy Green added nine runs to close out the match.

The teams will play the fifth and final game of the series in Christchurch on Wednesday. This result cements New Zealand’s immediate standing in international cricket ahead of the finale.
