With the celebration of a match between the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica, the Dominican American Football Federation opened its 2023 international calendar, in addition to initiating steps to strengthen this sport in which it has the support of the Ministry of Sports and Recreation. .
"Our idea is to create a solid federation that helps young people to integrate into sport as a discipline, as a growth instrument to train young people who have goals, objectives and who have abilities"said the president of Fedofa, Eros Braccini.
Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic met this Saturday in the green area of the warm-up track of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, in a match that filled the stands of the facility.
He thanked Miderec for the support provided, since "They helped us with the organization and to get the lodging".
The meeting, said Braccini, is the first international event of American football in the country.
"We have tried to reactivate the league, the federation and in general the sport and movement of American football after the inactivity of civid-19"he added.
The sports leader reiterated the support offered by Miderec.
"In truth, the Ministry of Sports has always supported us since the beginning of our federation project"he expressed, while thanking the direct support of the minister, Francisco Camacho, of his assistant Manuel López, as well as the deputy ministers of Sports who have collaborated with the formation of Fedofa.

He also thanked the Dominican Olympic Committee, which has provided advice for the launch of the federation, which was formally carried out in December 2022, when it was established.
