Deus Brothers Retire From Premier Padel Milano P1 Due to Physical Issues

The Deus brothers, renowned national champions in the padel world, have hit a bump in the road. Just days after achieving a remarkable feat, winning the Premier Padel circuit’s longest-ever match, a grueling 3 hours and 17 minutes, their bodies finally called for a timeout. They were forced to withdraw from the Oysho Milano P1 tournament this Tuesday.

Their exit came during a tough match against the sport’s top-ranked duo. Spain’s Arturo Coello and Argentina’s Agustín Tapia, the world number ones, proved a formidable challenge. The Portuguese pair tried their best to push through the pain. They battled hard in the first set, but the physical toll was too much. They ultimately lost the set 6-3.

The struggle continued into the second set. With the score at 2-1 in favor of their opponents, Miguel Deus simply couldn’t continue. The decision to stop, though difficult, was necessary. “Giving up is something I hate,” Miguel shared after the match. “But sometimes, or really, always, we have to listen to our bodies.” He added that they must remember the season stretches long. “We put in a great effort this week. Thanks for all the support, everything is fine.” It’s a tough pill to swallow for any athlete, but sometimes stepping back is the smartest play for the long game.
