Determined to give Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar an important responsibility, he arrived in Kandahar

The Taliban have decided to give a key role in Afghanistan’s new interim setup to MP Amir Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar. Mullah Baradar arrived in Kandahar 20 years later and will travel to Kabul after meeting with the emir of the Islamic emirate Hebatullah Akhundzada.

On Sunday, the Taliban took control of almost the entire country, including the Afghan capital, Kabul. Taliban fighters entered Kabul without a fight, before former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani fled the country.

According to sources, the Taliban decided to give Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the head of political affairs, a key role in shaping the interim government, after which he left Qatar for Afghanistan with his other aides.
