According to the details, Canadian Immigration Minister Marco Mendesino said during a press conference that the situation in Afghanistan is shocking, in which case we will not remain silent.
Announcing asylum for 20,000 Afghan refugees, the immigration minister said the refugees would include female leaders, government employees and other at-risk Taliban people.
“In view of the Taliban advance towards Kabul, Canadian embassy personnel have been evacuated by air. We are closely monitoring the situation in Afghanistan,” he said.
On the other hand, Canadian Foreign Minister Mark Granio said: “The protection of the Canadian Embassy and its staff is our highest priority. Canada is grateful to the Afghans and will continue to work to protect them.”
