Desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden is a heinous crime, OIC

The declaration was issued after an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah against the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden.

The meeting held at the OIC headquarters was held at the invitation of Saudi Arabia, whose declaration said that the desecration in Sweden is a heinous crime, and the entire Muslim Ummah has suffered from the incident.

According to the declaration, there is a need for a common plan of action against Islamophobia, inter-faith harmony is required to avoid such incidents.

Apart from this, the situation arising after the desecration of the Holy Quran was reviewed in the meeting, while appropriate measures were discussed in the meeting in response to these heinous acts.

The OIC said that such serious acts undermine mutual respect and harmony among people, and governments should take effective measures to prevent such incidents from happening again, such acts are against global efforts of tolerance and moderation.

The organization said that the Holy Quran strongly condemns attacks and insults on Islamic values, symbols and sanctities. Under the UN Charter, all states are bound by race, gender and language to respect religion and human rights. .
