The highly anticipated third season of “Delhi Crime” is set to premiere globally on November 13, exclusively on Netflix. The crime drama’s new season promises to unravel a fresh mystery, introducing new faces to its acclaimed ensemble cast.
Shefali Shah returns in her Emmy-winning role as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, also known as Madam Sir.
Shah expressed that reprising the character is a deeply personal experience. She stated that Vartika is battling an enemy that transcends geographical borders and is also embedded within society.
“Human trafficking is not the work of a few individuals; it is a symptom of a society that often looks away,” Shah explained. “Vartika, with her unwavering sense of justice, continues to fight, even if it means rescuing just one life from this dark world.”
Huma Qureshi joins the franchise in a negative role as Meena.
Qureshi described playing Meena as a powerful but unsettling experience, noting that the character is both traumatized and possesses significant control. “She is a woman who is both a victim and a perpetrator,” Qureshi added, praising “Delhi Crime’s” integrity for its refusal to glorify or sensationalize.
“It compels us to confront uncomfortable truths that are often plainly visible,” Qureshi said.
Tanuj Chopra directs the third season. The returning cast includes Rasika Dugal as Neeti Singh, Rajesh Tailang as Bhupendra Singh, Jaya Bhattacharya as Vimla Bharadwaj, and Anurag Arora as Jairaj Singh. Additional cast members include Sayani Gupta, Mita Vashisht, K. Dorjee, and Anshuman Pushkar.
