Delfines del Naco conquer the International Swimming Tournament

The Club Naco Dolphins won first place in the XXXIX International Tournament that was held with resounding success at the Olympic Center Aquatic Complex, where more than 550 athletes from more than 11 countries participated for four days.

The Dolphins achieved a general score of 785.5, in second place was the Sport Center de los Naranjos team, from Venezuela with 669 points and in third place, the Arroyo Hondo Marlins team with 550 points.

While in the category of Champions of National Teams, Costa Rica arrived in first place with 954.5 points, followed by the team from Antioquia, Venezuela, which finished with 284 points and in third place, the Guatemalan team that accumulated 40 points.

The president of the club’s Board of Directors, Mario Alvarez Soto, on behalf of the directors, sent a warm congratulations to the athletes who gave themselves body and soul, as well as to the coaches and the Parents’ Association, for all their efforts.

After concluding the competitions this Sunday, the athletes from the different countries received their trophies from the hands of the vice president of the Naco club, Madelaine Andino, Sida Medina, the Association of Parents of the Dolphins and Manuel de Jesús Coronado, director of Sports of the club.

The event was endorsed by the Dominican Swimming Federation (FEDONA) and accredited by the International Swimming Federation and was dedicated to Soriano Severino and family, who for more than 15 years have been committed to the success and development of Los Delfines del Naco.

The Board of Directors of the Naco Dolphin Parents Association, chaired by Sida Medina, declared that this traditional aquatic event is considered one of the most important in the Central American and Caribbean area.

They competed in the modalities of 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1500 meters, free style; 50, 100 and 200 back, chest and Butterfly; 200 and 400 meters combined; free, medley and mixed relays.
