The pressure is on for FURIA in the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports scene. This team is on a mission to defend its world title. They aim for a second straight championship in the ESL Impact S8. To get there, they must rank among the top two teams in the Americas.
The team, often called the Panthers, kicked off its journey strong. Last Thursday night, they took down Capivaras with a 2-0 victory. This win puts them closer to securing a spot in the ESL Impact S8 global final. The championship event will take place in Stockholm, Sweden.
Bruna “bizinha” Marvila, a player for FURIA, shared her thoughts on the team’s experience. “Playing this competition three times with the same team helps us grow,” she said. “We’ve passed the early stages. Now we want to show how strong we are consistently.” Marvila added, “Our last ESL Impact title taught us a lot. We learned our peak strength and the effort needed to keep that level. I expect us to give everything we have in this championship.”
FURIA’s Championship Legacy
The Panthers showed a strong performance during ESL Impact S7. They won every match in the regional qualifiers. They did this without losing a single map. In the main event playoffs, they advanced past Imperial in the semi-final. They then defeated Supernova Comets in the grand final. This history sets a high bar for their current season. Their next match is against Atrix on September 17.
