Harish Salvi, a lawyer for the non-governmental organization, feels that the BBC’s 2-episode documentary has defamed India and its judicial system.

The court said the BBC documentary on the role of the state’s then chief minister Modi in the 2002 Gujarat riots defamed India. The defendant was summoned following the plaintiff’s claim that the documentary was made against current Prime Minister Modi.
