Debbie Aflalo, representative of Azua, will be RD’s new candidate for Miss Universe

Last minute change! The organizers of Miss Universe RD reported that the new representative of the Dominican Republic in the Miss Universe It will be Debbie Aflalo, representative of Azua.

Through its Instagram account, the entity explained that “unfortunately” Andreina Martínez Fournier, chosen as the winner on November 7, it was positive for Covid-19, therefore, you will not be able to participate in this edition of the beauty contest.

“She has started her quarantine properly and her main focus is on recovering.”The publication reads.

Miss Universe RD indicated that they made the decision in view of the proximity of the contest and the quarantine that Andreina is keeping at the moment.

“We count on your support and your best vibes so that Andreina recovers as soon as possible,” the post continues.

The Azuana representative was the first finalist in the contest, imposing on La Vega, second finalist; Samaná, third and La Romana, fourth.

“The important thing is that our country is well represented and has international participation”, concluded the entity.

The new Miss RD will travel to Eliat, Israel to participate in the competition that brings together 80 representatives from countries.
