Belgian international Zeno Debast is set to rejoin Sporting CP on Wednesday, transitioning quickly from a successful World Cup qualifying campaign with his national team to prepare for a crucial Portuguese Cup match.
The 21-year-old defender played a full 90 minutes in Belgium’s 4-2 victory over Wales. This win propelled the “Red Devils” back to the top of Group 3 in their 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Debast also completed 90 minutes in Belgium’s previous match against North Macedonia last Friday. National coach Rudi Garcia showed his confidence in the young player, fielding him at center-back alongside Arthur Theate in both fixtures.
Upon his return to the Alcochete (Sporting CP training academy), Debast will immediately join his club teammates. He will begin preparations for Sporting CP’s upcoming Portuguese Cup fixture.
The team is scheduled to face Paços de Ferreira on Saturday.
