New Delhi: The death toll in various accidents due to torrential rains, floods and landslides in India has risen to 91 while many are still missing.

Houses, buildings, vehicles, bridges and temples were swept away by the rains, with the worst damage occurring in the districts of Himachal Pradesh.

A thick layer of mud formed after the flood in many low-lying areas, while people’s property and goods were severely damaged.

The water level in the Yamuna river rose to an alarming level, in view of which a red alert has been issued in Delhi and Haryana.

Evacuation of citizens from the affected areas of Delhi continues, the Meteorological Department has predicted more heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan.
