The actor Michael Nader, known to have played the character of Dex Dexter in the series “Dynasty”, died of incurable cancer at the age of 76 this Monday, August 23.
According to the American site Deadline, the comedian’s illness was diagnosed just 10 days before his death. His wife, Jodi Lister, shared the sad news on Michael Nader’s Facebook page.
“His death and the diagnosis he received were sudden and unexpected, I have never experienced such agony to see my soul mate die before my eyes”, writes Jodi Lister, revealing in passing that the actor is was engaged in writing a book “on his life and addictions” before his death.
“With a heavy heart, I share the news of the passing of my beloved, Michael. We have spent 18 wonderful years with the many dogs we have raised and adopted. Recently, Michael was thrilled to reconnect with his Dynasty cast friends at the Emma Samms virtual event to help raise funds for Covid-Long research. He was a magnificent and fascinating man with many talents and skills. I will miss him forever, ”his wife testified in a statement released by Deadline.
Besides his role in the series Dynasty, in which he played Dex Dexter from 1983 to 1988, Michael Nader had also played in season 1 of Magnum alongside Tom Selleck in 1980. He also had a role in the film The Great Escape 2 in 1988. His last television role was in 2001 in season 3 of New York, special unit. He was the father of a daughter, Lindsay Michelle Nader, born from her first marriage to Robin Nader.
