Deadly car bomb explosion kills women in northern Syria near Manbech

A recent incident in northern Syria has resulted in the loss of lives and injuries. At least 14 women and a man died, and another 15 women were injured, some of them seriously, due to the explosion of a car bomb near the city of Manbej. The victims were traveling in a truck when the car bomb exploded on a nearby road. This area has seen frequent clashes between the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and pro-Turkish Syrian rebels.

The explosion occurred in a region controlled by pro-Turkish factions, but so far, no group has claimed responsibility for the incident. This is the sixth explosion of its kind in areas under the control of pro-Turkish factions since last December, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based NGO with a network of collaborators in the field.

Two days prior to this incident, another explosion occurred in a military zone of the city, resulting in the deaths of 9 people, including members of the Syrian National Army (SNA), a faction of the Syrian rebels. Additionally, 15 other people were injured in that explosion. The city of Manbej, located east of Aleppo, is a key objective for the Syrian rebels in their offensive against the SDF, an alliance backed by the United States. The ongoing clashes and explosions in the region have led to a significant loss of life and injuries, with many more affected by the ongoing conflict.
