De Villiers gave ‘Gurumantra’ to Surya, told him how to return to 360 degree form

Suryakumar Yadav is a major player for Mumbai Indians. He has given good performances for the Mumbai Indians for the past few years, but his form is not good. In all three matches of the home ODI series between India and Australia, Surya was sent off at the first ball of the golden duck. Such poor form did not leave Surya’s side even in IPL. Now, South African legend AB de Villiers has given Surya a gurumantra to get him out of bad shape.

In this IPL season, Mumbai played their first match against RCB, in which Surya was able to score only 15 runs. The former RCB player and Hall of Famer has advised Surya not to change his game plan. Speaking to News18, De Villiers said that he (Surya) has probably now reached that stage where he needs to do something. But his secret is that you don’t have to be afraid and don’t change your game plan. He has to stick to his game, which he’s been doing for years.

He further said yes, he can try to remember that, what my basics are and what I used to do when I was scoring runs and so I could take his game to a different level. AB de Villiers further said that Surya should forget what people expect of him. He said that going down a level and spending time there is not a bad thing. You can’t score 100 runs on 40 balls in every match, it’s not going to happen.

De Villiers said: I learned this the hard way with the Chinnaswamy crowd, because they expected me to score a century in every match. Sometimes I had to tell myself that, you know, AB, you have to be honest with yourself, you’re not reading the ball correctly. That’s why you go to the field, just take a run, hit Virat and let someone else score. And then slowly I’ll get a good shot and then I’ll get back to my game. In this way, de Villiers has advised the 360-degree player from India to return to his form. Now we have to see how wonderful Surya can show in the next match.
