The Oneway Group allies with McLaren and bets on young talent. The orange team, under the McLaren Barcelona-SMC Motorsport team confirms to Gonzalo de Andres and tommy pintos as his new Pro-Am partner, who will debut in the new McLaren Trophy Europe. A top-level continental event that has promoted the mythical British factory and that is made up of a total of ten races framed in five European events. The tournament will set its starting point next week, contesting the first round at Circuit Paul Ricard (June 2-4) and accompanying the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe at all times on its tour. They will also visit the tracks of Spa-Francorchamps (June 29 to July 1), Nürburgring (July 28 to 30), Hockenheim (September 1 to 3) and the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya as a final climax (September 29 to October 1st).
The Spanish team will have the new McLaren Artura Trophy, with which they will seek the success they have already achieved in 2021 and 2022, with the victories achieved with the McLaren 570S GT4. And for this they also have two renowned young talents. First, Gonzalo de Andrés, joins the team facing his third season in the Gran Turismo category, after a very successful sports career, in which he has won two runners-up finishes in the GT4 Supercars South European Series. “It is a tremendous joy to be in a European championship organized by McLaren. The level in all senses will be very high and we are very motivated in this new stage with a new generation vehicle”, explains the new signing, grateful to the brand “for their support over the years” and to all those sponsors “who make this international project possible”.
As a teammate, At 17 years old, Tommy Pinto establishes himself as the great young promise of the brand. He learned in Karting or Autocross categories, surprised in his debut in the 2020 Ginetta Junior as one of the best rookies and last 2022 he finished the season as third place in the GT4 Supercars South European Series with several podium finishes that helped McLaren Barcelona-SMC Motorsport win the team title. And now his ambition leads him to pursue a new challenge: “My new car and championship with some new circuits for me. Facing this exciting challenge has been possible thanks to the great effort and work put in by many people who are always by my side and to whom I want to convey my gratitude”.
